Day of Hope St. Joseph

Day of Hope St. Joseph is a one day event where the churches and Christian organizations of St. Joseph come together to bless those neighbors in our area who are struggling. The Day of Hope foundation was established in Platte County in 2012 as a cooperation of local churches with the purpose of bringing hope to those struggling in their community by offering basic need items as well as the love of Jesus through friendship. Day of Hope St. Joseph was founded in 2018 as a ministry of Mission House CCLRC inspired by the Platte County event. The 2021 event in St. Joseph will be held on November 6th at The Keys Christian Fellowship Church. Several churches and local Christian organizations are already involved. We hope to see all of the churches in St. Joseph join in.

When a family or individual arrives at the event, they are greeted, signed in, and introduced to their "hope walker" who stays with them throughout the event and ensures they get all the love available! From there they enjoy a meal and then head to the gym. There they get a free haircut, find the kids area for crafts and balloon animals, and recieve some basic need items. These items include (but are not limited to) diapers, personal hygiene packs, socks, hats and gloves, toilet paper, laundry detergent, and ladies hygiene products. They end the event with prayer from the prayer team and a Bible to take home with them. Finally, they are helped to their vehicle with all their goodies. Transportation is provided for those in need.

 Another success!! While Covid may have changed it a bit, what a great day! Day of Hope 2020 was held outside, but we couldn't have asked for a better November day, it was 70 degrees and sunny!! Thanks to Green Valley Baptist for sticking it out with us to make it happen, and always a huge thank you to all churches, organizations, and local businesses that support Day of Hope St. Joseph!
